 What's New for the 2017 Jeep Wrangler?

The new Jeep Wrangler offers a 2-door, 4-passenger version and a 4-door, 5-passenger Wrangler Unlimited version. It is available in Sport, Sport S, Sahara, and Rubicon trim levels. There is a new Cold Weather package option for the Rubicon and Sport S models. This package includes heavy-duty all-weather floor mats, a block heater, remote engine starter, heated seats, 17-inch B.F. Goodrich All-Terrain TA KO2 tires, and a power convenience group for one-touch power windows, heated power mirrors, keyless remote entry, power locks, and several other power accessories.

Jeep is preparing to roll out its next-generation Wrangler for 2018. As a result few updates are available for the 2017 Jeep models. A new Sport S model replaces the many special edition vehicles from last year. Fog lamps and LED headlights are now standard on the Rubicon and the Sahara trims, and optional on the Sport and Sport S trims. The basic Sport trim comes with Chrysler’s V6 3.6-liter Pentastar engine that has a 6-speed manual transmission. A 5-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting mode is also available. The engine can develop 285 horsepower with torque of 260 lb-ft. The fuel economy is 17 mpg in city driving and 21 mpg on the highway. The Jeep Wrangler is classified as a compact SUV. The standard V6 engine is quite powerful which enhances its acclaimed off-road performance. Standard equipment on the base Sport model includes a folding soft top, removable front doors, cloth upholstery, a compass, a USB port, and a gauge for outdoor temperatures. The Unlimited version gets air conditioning. Off-road features that are standard include fuel tank skid plates. 2 front and 1 rear tow hooks, and hill-start assist. The Sport S trim has air conditioning, 17-inch alloy wheels, and a steering wheel wrapped in leather. Sahara models have power windows, automatic headlights, remote keyless entry, satellite radio, and 18-inch wheels. The top-of-the-line Rubicon models have a heavy-duty front axle for extreme off-roading expertise. It also has locking rear and front differentials, the Rock-Trac 4-wheel-drive system, and 17-inch alloy wheels with 32-inch off-road tires
